The "120 minutes a week" number is a survey, not a dose
Two hours a week in nature is everywhere as advice. It comes from one snapshot survey in England, and time in nature explained about 1% of the difference between people.

Caveat on this rating: The famous number is far weaker than its fame. The threshold was not pre-specified - it emerged from cutting the data into 60-minute blocks - and the curve is not a staircase: adjusted odds for good health run 1.59 [1.31-1.92] at 120-179 minutes, then FALL to 1.44 at 180-239, rise to 1.55, and fall again to 1.33 at 300+, with overlapping confidence intervals throughout. The data cannot distinguish two hours from five. The authors call the threshold and peak "more as a starting points for discussion and further investigation, than clearly established findings", report that nature time explained "approx. 1%" of variance, and state they "are unable to rule out the possibility that the association is, at least in part, due to healthier, happier people spending more time in nature."
The advice to get two hours a week in nature rests on one survey of 20,000 people in England. It was a single snapshot, taken at one moment in time.
Significant findings
People were asked to recall their visits to parks, coast and countryside over the past seven days. They then rated their health and their life satisfaction, one question each.
Time in nature explained about 1% of the difference between people.
The 120-minute line was not planned in advance. It fell out of chopping the data into one-hour blocks. Above two hours the numbers wobble up and down rather than climbing.
The authors were careful. They called the threshold "tentative" and a starting point for discussion, not an established finding.
They also could not rule out the simplest explanation: healthier, happier people go outside more.
Worth asking
Do not chase the number. Notice instead what a walk actually does for you, and how long that lasts.
